What makes a room sparkle?

What makes a house a home?

Sometimes it is a single piece of furniture, a family treasure, a rug, mirror, art, or wall sconce. It is a vision that combines new and old, stylish and primitive, the right fabric or pattern, the warm patina of wood with touches of brass, silver or gold.

The secret is making families happy and guests delighted to return. It is about chic comfort, edited style, and standing apart from the crowd.

Mary Falls’s decades of learning and traveling have enabled her to create warm homes for family and friends in the city and country. With a particular love of old homes, she has tackled multiple homes on the National Register of Historic Places with vision and elbow grease. Mary enjoys weaving family heirlooms as well as antique and vintage finds into everyday life. She celebrates "saving" beautifully made antique and vintage decor -- decor that isn't mass produced and is ecologically thoughtful.

Schooled as an attorney but a lifelong student of beauty, Mary was born in upstate, New York, ventured south to Vanderbilt University for her degrees, and studied in London and Rome. She has visited more than 90 nations, searching each to share the best with her savvy following.
